Shows what can't be see by the naked eye!
Penetrant Inspection is the process of using a tool to find defects, flaws, and leaks in a material. A penetrant inspection will show the presence, location, size, and nature of the defects that are open to the surface but are too small to be seen by a normal visual inspection.
Avcorp performs Type 1 Method A Penetrant Inspection. Our penetrant inspection is used on non-porous metal and non-metal components. To increase the visibility contrast between a discontinuity and its background, our penetrant inspection process applies a liquid of high penetrating power to a part. Later in the penetrant inspection process, excess penetrant is removed and a developer material is applied that draws the liquid from the suspected defect to reveal the discontinuity. With our penetrant inspection, the visual evidence of the suspected defect can then be seen either by color-contrast in normal visible white light or by fluorescence under black ultraviolet light.
